Data Sources
How MOTCheckers sources vehicle and MOT information, including limitations and independence.
Production data
In production, MOTCheckers will use authorised government vehicle and MOT data sources where available.
Until those credentials are connected, development and demo environments use realistic mock data so the product experience can be tested safely. Demo reports are clearly marked.
What we provide
MOT status, expiry, test history, mileage readings, failures, advisories and available vehicle details — when returned by the configured provider.
What we do not currently provide
Write-off categories, stolen status, finance outstanding, previous keeper lists and insurance claims require additional licensed sources and are not shown as live data.
Independence
MOTCheckers is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DVLA, DVSA or the UK Government.
